The research project “Sociofamilial Factors Associated with Alcohol Consumption of High School Students of the Daniel Hermida Educational Unit, of the Santa Ana Parish - Cuenca Canton, Year 2023”, aims to highlight one of the current problems in adolescents: consumption of alcohol. To achieve this, it is crucial to know and analyze the associated factors, particularly those of a social and family nature. The general objective of this study is to analyze the socio-familial factors related to alcohol consumption among high school students of the Daniel Hermida Educational Unit, in the Santa Ana Parish - Cuenca Canton, during the year 2023. This study adopted a quantitative approach of cross-sectional, with a non-experimental design and a descriptive scope. The population under study included high school students aged between 15 and 18 years. The survey technique was used to collect information, through the application of a previously designed questionnaire. Among the most relevant results, it stands out that students have been exposed to the consumption of alcoholic beverages from an early age. Furthermore, the first person with whom they shared this experience is usually a family member. Despite being aware of the negative consequences of drinking alcohol, many students do so primarily for fun. The problems derived from this consumption are usually family-related. Factors such as family history of alcohol consumption and the influence of the environment on students' consumption decisions were also identified.
