Evaluación de medios de cultivo de fabricación casera en la producción de embriones in vitro en bovinos
(Universidad de Cuenca, 2024-07-25) Cajilema Paida, Luis Miguel; Ayala Guanga, Luis Eduardo
The objective of the present study was to evaluate the efficiency of in vitro culture media produced in the Biotechnology laboratory of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, compared to a commercial medium. Ovaries were collected from the Cuenca Municipal Camal until 200 oocytes were completed for each treatment. The COC ́s classified as suitable (A and B) were matured for 24 hours. Then, the COCs that showed expansion in their cumulus cells were placed in the fertilization medium for 24 hours. Subsequently, the COC ́s were denuded and the oocytes that presented cleavage were used for the current study, being randomly distributed in the three treatments (T1=CR2; Non-commercial 1 1; T2=SOF; Non-commercial 2; T3=Commercial; witness) for 7 days. After 7 days, the number of embryos, their stage and quality were assessed in each of the treatments. The results indicated that the percentage of embryos obtained, in general and without considering the treatments, was 41% at the end of in vitro embryo production (PIVE). The CR2 and SOF (non-commercial) media provided better percentages of embryos of excellent quality at the end of the PIVE (43.6% CR2 and 36.8% SOF), compared to the commercial (control) with a statistical difference (P< 0.05). The present study demonstrated that the in vitro culture media prepared in the Biotechnology laboratory of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, University of Cuenca provided results as or more effective than commercial media
