Cuenca is renowned for its cultural and architectural value, particularly its historic center where adobe constructions are preserved, symbolizing its historical heritage. However, these structures face challenges of fragility and deterioration, exacerbated by the high seismic vulnerability of the area due to the presence of geological faults. Therefore, this research studies the nature and behavior of representative adobe facades through modeling and simulation using the STKO software, powered by OpenSees. Modal and nonlinear static analyses were conducted to determine the demand points of the buildings under various seismic intensities. These analyses enabled the identification of the type and level of damage sustained, which is crucial for constructing probability graphs for different damage states, known as fragility curves. Additionally, based on these probabilities, the approximate repair costs were estimated. The direct relationship between increasing PGA, damage probabilities, and corresponding costs highlights the growing vulnerability of adobe facades to higher levels of seismic activity.
