    Conocimientos y actitudes sobre la vacunación contra el virus papiloma humano en mujeres estudiantes de la Carrera de Contabilidad y Auditoría de la Universidad de Cuenca, 2023

    Background: cervical cancer is the fourth cause of cancer mortality in women worldwide and is associated with the human papillomavirus (HPV), however, this can be prevented through vaccination that provides effective and long-lasting protection in immunized women from 9-12 years. Objective: determinating the knowledge and attitude about vaccination against Human Papillomavirus in females in female students from the accounting and auditing career at the University of Cuenca. Methodology: an observational, cross-sectional study was carried out, based on online survey records of knowledge and attitudes about vaccination against the human papillomavirus in female students of the accounting and auditing career at the University of Cuenca, 2023. We worked with 197 participants. The data were included in a data matrix in Microsoft Excel, then the data were analyzed with SPSS v.26 statistical software and presented in tables and statistical charts. Results: we found that the level of knowledge about the HPV vaccine is 53.8% and knowledge about the disease is 71.6%. The main lack of knowledge regarding vaccination was the number of doses to be applied, 85%. The attitude towards HPV vaccination was indifferent in 64%. Conclusion: the students of the accounting and auditing program at the University of Cuenca have a low level of knowledge regarding HPV vaccination, with an indifferent attitude towards it.
