Good habits of hygiene are the most effective way to prevent infectious diseases such as diarrhea and pneumonia, which together are responsible for the majority of infant deaths, which is why each year more than 3.5 million children do not reach to celebrate their fifth birthday. Despite the potential to save lives with these habits well spent, such as hand washing with soap is seldom practiced and not always easy to promote. GENERAL PURPOSE. Identify the level of knowledge, attitudes and practices about hygiene habits with Children / Education Unit as Eugenio Francisco Tamariz. METHODOLOGY. The present study was a quantitative approach because it allowed us to record and examine the data numerically, a research design was used because unveiled in general which have hygiene habits that students have acquired and action interventions nurses were conducted to improve knowledge. The universe was made up of students who met the inclusion criteria. RESULTS. 124 students were surveyed, of whom 91.9% known about hygiene standards and 8.1% do not know about it. With the results of this investigation we proceeded to inform the authorities of the Education Unit to propose and implement an educational program in order to improve and encourage the practice of hygienic habits in students who are unaware, the minimum percentage. CONCLUSIONS. Determine the prevalence of emotional impact on children women victims of domestic violence Gualaceo, 2013. Material and methods. This was a descriptive study, as the interview technique test was used to assess emotional consequences in children / family violence as living. The study group was 153 children aged between 6 and 12 years. The sample included 60 participants (27 girls) and (33 children). Data were evaluated through numerical scales, the results are presented with frequencies and percentages through graphs. Results. The results of the study reject the hypothesis. percentages less emotional involvement was found in criteria such as insecurity (25%), low self-esteem (26.6%), confusion (28.33%), decreased dialogue at home (25%), lack of interest in pleasurable activities (23.33%), difficulty sharing with other children (20%), difficulty with attention and concentration 33.33% and sleep disorders (28.33 %). and, it was found that over 50%of children respondents have emotional disturbances such as anxiety (50%), aggression (51.66 %), isolation (53.33 %). Discussion. An individual suffering from developing systematic adverse events at home can alter your psyche; conduct manifesting itself in behavior. Hence we show behaviors such as aggression, withdrawal, anxiety, confusion, low self esteem, lack of care and concern. We worked with a finite group consisting of 193 children / as a universe of 200 children / as the child development center of Good Living "Smurfs" Valley of the parish. The technique used was direct observation, taking weight and height, interpretation of results using the growth charts and BMI (Body Mass Index) as a working tool and a form designed by the authors was used, the data were processed and analyzed using Microsoft Word, Excel and SPSS. As results of weight / age 179 children / as are normal weight and 14 underweight for age. Regarding the size / age 153 children / as are normal and 40 with short stature. According to the formula weight / height 150 child / as are normal and 43 child / as malnourished. Regarding Body Mass Index (BMI) 187 children / as are normal, overweight 5 and 1 with low weight. In conclusion we can say that poverty, family imbalance, lack of knowledge about proper nutrition affects growth and development of children / as. KEYWORDS: LIGHTWEIGHT, MALNUTRITION, WEIGHT NORMAL OVERWEIGHT AND OBESITY.Item Estado nutricional y factores asociados del personal de salud del Distrito 01D04 Chordeleg Gualaceo, 2015(2015) Naranjo Bustamante, Paola Daniela; Tenecora Gómez, Edwin Fernando; Cabrera Contreras, Guadalupe Priscila; Aguilar Pesántez, Martina de JesúsGeneral Objective: To determine the nutritional status and associated factors of the health staff of District 01D04 Chordeleg - Gualaceo. Methodology: Transversal analytical study. 210 health workers from District 01D04 were evaluated during the period of March to August 2015. A structured questionnaire was applied and anthropometric measurements were taken. Frequency and percentage values were obtained and findings of nutritional status were correlated with staff’s lifestyle (eating habits and physical activity), using Pearson’s chi square and p value. Results: The average age was 34,55 years old. Being the 26-35 years old the most common group with 51% and females with 69,5%; in this population it was determined that the 18,1% had associated diseases being HTA (Arterial hypertension) the most prominent with 8,1%. Nutritional assessment determined that 40% of people tested were overweight, this being the most frequent alteration; secondly obesity was found accounted with 20,5%; underweight occurred in 3 cases representing 1,4% of the total. We found an association between the frequency of consumption of dairy products, meat and water with nutritional status (p <0.05), in the rest of the cases no statistical significance was found, in the majority of the cases the habits were appropriate, and the frequency of sedentary was 53,8%, Nevertheless they weren’t associated with the presence of overweight or obesity. Conclusion: The prevalence of overweight and obesity is high, despite having good eating habits. The introduction of immunization has enabled undoubted benefits, the incidence of many infectious diseases is reduced and there is an obviously reduced mortality. Objective: The purpose of this investigation is to evaluate the personnel in charge of the area of vaccination on compliance with supervisory guidance of the expanded program of immunization MSP: Gualaceo, Paute and Cuenca. 2014. Methodology: This study is descriptive. We worked with a finite universe consists of a sampling frame represented by 62 operating units belonging to the cantons of Cuenca, Gualaceo Advertise in the province of Azuay in which supervisory guidance was applied to 2 people in charge of the area of vaccination of each Operating Unit. The technique used was direct observation, as instruments supervisory guidance of the Expanded Immunization Program prepared by the Ministry of Public Health and a form of knowledge developed by the authors. The data were processed in SPSS version 19, Excel, Word programs and are presented in tables after statistical analysis. Results: The purpose of this research is to show the percentage of completion of each component that raises supervisory guidance from staff vaccination Operating Units obtaining the following: 96% occurs compliance activities regarding the quality component information and cold chain; 81% component vaccination and surveillance activities; 75% organization; and 74% biosafety, vaccines and syringes showing a higher percentage than itself meets the respective activities posed supervisory guidance on operational units. Conclusions: Being evaluated the vaccination on compliance with supervisory guidance of the Expanded Immunization Program MSP during 2014, we determined that mainly the responsibility of each one of the components contains guidelines regarding the performance demonstrated work unfolds persons serving in the operating units of the three cantons.Item Repercusiones del embarazo y la maternidad en el rendimiento académico de las estudiantes de la Carrera de Enfermería de la Universidad de Cuenca - 2014(2015) Cuenca Chuni, Karina Alexandra; Espinoza Faicán, Mayra Verónica; Sinche Rivera, Elisabeth Cecilia; Cabrera Contreras, Guadalupe PriscilaBackground: Pregnancy and motherhood are facts that bring impact on academic performance when combined with the demands of school life, can be considered as an obstacle races mainly physical effort, such as nursing having to perform dependent care person. In this research some conflicts leading to a pregnancy and a parallel process of training maternity addressed. Objective: To identify the impact of pregnancy and motherhood in the academic performance of students of the School of Nursing at the University of Cuenca. Materials and Methods: A descriptive study with a qualitative approach was performed. We worked with a convenience sample of 68 students involving pregnant women and mothers of first, second, third year and the boarding of the race. Instrument: a survey conducted by the authors was applied prior informed consent. Results: Of the 68 students participating in our study, 25% of students respectively rose and / or low academic performance, despite her pregnancy and / or maternity leave has not been considered an obstacle to their studies, 14.7% lost year of study demonstrating not have the support necessary to accommodate the schedules of study. Cañar, 2014(2014) Inga Guartatanga, Lourdes Paola; Juela Marca, Jenny Alexandra; LLanos Fajardo, Rosa Maricela; Cabrera Contreras, Guadalupe Priscila; Sinche Rivera, Elisabeth CeciliaObjective: The present study allowed us to assess the growth of children of the Seventh Basic Early Education Centre Community General Rumiñahui " Quilloac ". Cañar, 2014. Methodology: A descriptive research was conducted cross-sectional and applying a quantitative method. We worked with a finite universe of 151 students of the Seventh Initial Basic. The technique used is the anthropometric measurement and control that allowed us to assess the growth of children / girls, adolescents and as a tool used growth curves of the Ministry of Public Health to plot the weight / age, height / age relationships according sex and Nelson formulas to relate the weight / age, height / age, obtaining the ideal weight, ideal size and by ideal weight, actual weight determine the degree of malnutrition according to Gomez; and body mass index ( BMI) and MUAC was measured to assess nutritional status . Use of Results: This research showed the growth of children / and adolescents by age class and sex, with the result that 151 students 13.2% are preschool aged <5 years, children from 5 to 9 years to 11 months 57.6%, teenagers 10 - 19 years 29.1% and 50.3% according to sex is female and 49.7% male . By plotting the growth curves in the Ministry of Public Health was evident: weight / age 0.7% overweight; relative height / age 11.9% severe stunting . Arm circumference was performed at < 5 years, 5% of them in moderate malnutrition and 95% proper nutrition.
