Background: Alterations in the sexual response during pregnancy are quite frequent and an association with different factors has been observed. Objective: To determine the frequency and associated factors of alterations in the sexual response during pregnancy in women who attend the Gynecology service of the Carlos Elizalde Health Center, in the city of Cuenca during the year 2021. Methodological design: Observational, analytical and cross-sectional study. The sample was 285 pregnant women. Sexual response was measured with the Pregnancy Sexual Response Inventory (PSRI). Data analysis was performed in SPSS v.25 software; descriptive statistics were presented in frequencies and percentages; the association was analyzed by means of a chi-square significant for 0.05; the results were presented in tables and graphs. Results: 76.5% are between 20 and 34 years old; 76.5% are married or are in a stable free union; 61.4% are high school graduates; 90.2% are Catholic; 61.8% do not work; 81.4% of their partners are between 18 and 35 years old. The very good sexual response was 30.9% before pregnancy and during this it decreased to 24.9%, the poor being more frequent with 25.6%. There was a significant change in all sexual response variables during pregnancy (p <0.05) and there is an association with gestational age, tobacco and illicit drug use, pregnancy planning. Conclusions: The sexual response of the pregnant woman is altered by pregnancy, decreasing as it progresses until the third trimester.
