    The objective of this investigation is to determinate the prevalence of underweight, overweight and obesity in children of Jose Peralta Primary School in Cuenca City, Ecuador.- This is a cross-sectional study should determine the prevalence of bad nutrition present in a sample of 76 children between second and seventh grade of basic education enrolled in school year 2011 to 2012.-Research techniques applied was the anthropometric measurement and control and the interview will take place at parents of children about state of health, education and nutrition.- The instruments used were tables of Body Mass Index (BMI), the growth curves of the NCHS and Nelson formulas in school children under 12 years old.-The work of the research concludes that in the children, researched nutritional problems encountered are related to socioeconomic conditions, lifestyle, nutritional habits and level of access to nutrients.AU
