Item Estado de las funciones psíquicas superiores en niños preescolares de 4 a 5 años del Centro Educativo Fiscal A.B.C y el Centro Educativo Particular Nueva Esperanza. Cuenca, septiembre 2014-febrero 2015(2015-11-11) Heredia Garay, Mayra Paola; Pasato Espinoza, Jackeline Fabiola; Oleas Vivar, Ximena Mariela; Bresciani Jaramillo, Gina AliciaIntroduction: In assessing higher mental functions in preschool children, one can identify children’s pre-academic skills and poor school performance as well as intervene at an early stage. Objective: In this research, we used the Initial Luria Battery with the purpose of determine the status of higher mental functions in preschool children from the ages 4-5 years at the educative centers "A.B.C" and " Buena Esperanza ". Methodology: A descriptive cross-sectional study in children aged from 4-5 years was assessed in the regular attending students for the educative centers mentioned above. We gathered and analyzed data based on a descriptive statistics of frequency and percentage as well as a contingency table that allowed us to examine both these categories. Results: The population was composed of 323 children, composed of 177 men (54.8%) and 146 women (45.2%). Individualized child neuropsychological assessments of all preschoolers allowed us to obtain a neuropsychological profile which aided us in identifying cases of neuropsychological signs of immaturity. On this basis, the results show that neuropsychological signs of immaturity were evident in the areas evaluated as “manual motor” and picture vocabulary with 0.6% in gestures and praxis, 0.3% in phonemic hearing and picture naming and 26.3% in color naming.Item Evaluación del estado nutricinal, hábitos alimentarios y actividad física en los niños de 6 a 10 años de la Escuela Remigio Romero y Cordero Cuenca 2014.(2015) Carchipulla Carchipulla, Mirian Rosario; Jiménez Déleg, Bersabe Elizabeth; Espinoza Fajardo, Ana Cristina; Bresciani Jaramillo, Gina AliciaSchool age, from a nutritional standpoint and health is important in preventing diseases, since during this stage eating habits are formed. Physical activity in schools is essential for the proper development of children, as it improves your cardiovascular function and helps develop their psychomotor skills. Objective: To determine nutritional status, dietary habits and physical activity of children of 6-10 years of school Remigio Romero y Cordero. Cuenca 2014. Methodology: A descriptive cross-sectional study, 200 students from 6-10 years of school Remigio Romero y Cordero. Cuenca 2014 - 2015. Prior to inclusion, student representatives signed the informed consent. Anthropometric measurements were taken to determine nutritional status. Dietary habits and level of physical activity were determined based on surveys of children. Results: Of the 200 students, 73,5% had normal weight, 12,5% Chronic Malnutrition, acute malnutrition 8,5%, 5% Overweight, Obesity 0,5%. The 50% of the population belonged to boys and 50% girls. The largest age group was 6 years to 28%. The 92% of those eating habits were regular, 4.5% and 3.5% good bad. 73.5% of the physical activity was light, 26.5% moderate, there were no cases of intense physical activity.Item Impacto de la intervención dietética en el estado nutricional del personal de los hospitales "Aida León de Rodríguez Lara" y "San Sebastian". Provincia del Azuay 2014(2015) Carrera Andrade, Geovanny Bolívar; Ramírez Goercke, María Isabel; Bresciani Jaramillo, Gina Alicia; Palacios Santana, Gicela MonserrateOBJECTIVE: To assess the impact of a dietary intervention in the nutritional status of the "Aida León de Rodriguez Lara" and "San Sebastian" hospitals staff in Azuay province 2014. METHODS AND MATERIALS: A descriptive study was performed using a Intervention – Action component. The study group was integrated by the staff working at Aida León de Rodriguez Lara from Girón and San Sebastián from Sigsig Hospitals, prior to signing the informed consent. A previously validated Food Frequency Questionnaire was applied and used as an instrument at the beginning and at the end of the research to measure the impact,. Also, anthropometric measurements were taken and biochemical blood levels were determinate. The data obtained was analyzed using SPSS Statistics 20 and Microsoft Excel Software. RESULTS: The intervention with a Normal Diet in 47% of the staff allowed them to maintain their nutritional status. The intervention with a Hypo caloric achieved a mean reduction of 1.5 kg in 37% of the staff. Despite the weight loss, all of them still remain overweight and obese.
