Item Efectos de la aplicación de un programa interdisciplinar en niños del séptimo de básica de la Escuela Federico Proaño para combatir el sedentarismo(Universidad de Cuenca, 2023-12-14) Bravo Quezada, Juan Pablo; Cobos Bermeo, Nelson AlbinoBackground: Currently, a sedentary lifestyle has become a global health challenge, and Ecuador is no exception. Lack of physical activity and sedentary lifestyle can lead to a variety of health problems. In this context, it is crucial to look for alternatives to promote physical activity in the child population. Objective: to evaluate the effects of the implementation of an interdisciplinary project designed to combat sedentary lifestyle in seventh grade students of the “Federico Proaño” School. Methodology: The study is quasi-experimental, with a quantitative and longitudinal approach. The sample is non-probabilistic for convenience and was divided into two groups: Parallel "A" (intervention group) and Parallel "B" (control group) that did not receive the intervention. The evaluation was carried out with two instruments: "Physical Activity Level Questionnaire" and the "Healthy Eating and Physical Activity Habits Questionnaire (CHVSAAF)", designed for schoolchildren aged 8 to 12 years. Results: In the control group, the CHVSAAF Questionnaire showed a mean of 11.66 and a standard deviation of 6.79 in the pretest. The intervention did not generate a significant impact on the frequency of eating habits, which remained constant in the post-test. Regarding the Physical Activity Level Questionnaire, in the pretest the average of physical activity habits for all participants was 12.33. Subsequently, in the post-test, the mean remained at 12.33, indicating that, on average, there was no change in physical activity habits after the intervention. Conclusions: The evaluation of the interdisciplinary project did not show significant changes in physical activity and eating habits; However, this does not necessarily imply that the project has failed; It may require more time or specific adjustments.
