Nevertheless, when adopting new technologies, the interaction between the end user and the social network is usually a decisive point; therefore, it must be considered some issues, such as the usability of these platforms. Although several approaches have been presented to evaluate the usability, little attention has been given to the use of formal standards for the evaluation of the quality characteristic. The present work, aims to contribute with a method of evaluation of the usability is aligned with ISO/IEC 25010 and the evaluation process is aligned with the ISO/IEC 25040 standard. These standards are aligned with the family of standards ISO / IEC 25000 for the evaluation of product quality (SQuaRE). In order to ensure this proposal, an extensive investigation of the state of the art has been carried out, through a systematic mapping which contributed substantially to the elaboration of the method and usability model of social networks used by older adults. In addition, training sessions were applied when evaluating the technological acceptance of this type of tools through case studies.
