Item Valoración del bajo peso, sobrepeso y obesidad de los niños/as del Colegio Nacional Técnico República de Israeldel Cantón Cuenca 2010.(2011) Bonete Larrea, Rosa Valeria; Campos Aguilera, Claudia Priscila; Vélez Angulo, Aracely Fernanda; Peñafiel Peñafiel, Marcia BeatrizThe objective of the investigation was to determine the prevalence of the low weight, overweight and obesity in children of the National School Technical “Republic of Israel” of the corner River basin. This investigation comprises of the project. STUDY OF the NUTRITIONAL STATE OF the CHILDREN OF BASIC EDUCATION OF the CANTON CUENCA 2010, impelled by the School of Infirmary of the University of River basin. Material and method: One is a study of cross section that will allow to determine the prevalence of malnutrition in children of the National School Technical “Republic of Israel” of the corner River basin. The universe is constituted by 434 children registered in school year 2010-2011. The sample in agreement with the applied formula was of 81 children, included between the eighth, ninth and tenth years of basic education. Techniques and instruments: The techniques of the investigation that were used were: • The interview that was realized to the parents of family of children investigated. • The measurement technique the anthropometric control. The instruments that were used are: • The tables of Index of Corporal Mass (IMC). • The curves of growth NCHS. • Form of surveys on the socioeconomic condition. The results demonstrate that 32% of children present/display low weight, being related to the socioeconomic condition, 6.17% of children has overweight related to the type of feeding, a sedentary style of life and 61.7% correspond to children of normal weight. The work of investigation concludes that, in investigated children the found nutritional problems are related to socio-economic conditions, nutritional styles of life, habits and level of access to the nutrients.
