    Prevalencia del sobrepeso y obesidad en mujeres embarazadas, atendidas en el Centro de Salud No 1 Pumapungo. Cuenca, 2013

    Overweight and obesity is fisiobioquimicas breast abnormalities that complicate the normal development of a pregnancy, its epidemiology is related to social, economic, cultural and environmental, but in Cuenca not exactly known prevalence, relevant for the monitoring aspect. Objective: To determine the prevalence of overweight and obesity in pregnant women treated at the Health Center No. 1 Pumapungo city of Cuenca in the months of August, September, and October 2013. Material and Methods: This is a descriptive study, we worked with 614 pregnant women attending the Health Center No. 1 “Pumapungo " in the months of August, September, October 2013.Con technical review of the clinical history is obtained data on weight and height , to which the formula is applied to obtain BMI , concluding that 140 had Overweight and Obesity. These organizations are structured to apply a knowledge of the characteristics of feed and Social Average interview. Results: Of the 614 pregnant women attending the health center in the months of August, September and October 2013, 140 presented Overweight and Obesity and the most power is high fat and calorie tarily. Conclusions: The prevalence of overweight is 14.98% followed by 7.82% with obesity in mothers attending antenatal care Health Center No. 1 " Pumapungo " of the city of Cuenca, in the months of August, September, October 2013. If the values are totaled, the prevalence of which involves demand to 22.80% of pregnant mothers. KEY WORDS: PREGNANCY, OVERWEIGHT, OBESITY, NUTRITION, INCOME, EDUCATION AND ETHNICITY
