This thesis delves into a comprehensive study of the rich architectural history of Cuenca, spanning from ancient civilizations such as the Cañaris and Incas to various architectural epochs that have left their imprint, including the colonial and republican periods, culminating in the contemporary era. In the first chapter, we explore the cultural and stylistic influences that have shaped Cuenca's architecture throughout the centuries. The second chapter examines counterparts and contemporary references in the city, highlighting examples like Casa Firenza and Suites Reales del Alcázar. These spaces epitomize a harmonious fusion between the preservation of tradition and the integration of modern elements, embodying a unique synthesis in Cuenca's architectural landscape. The third chapter puts forth an innovative interior design perspective by merging colonial and republican styles. The proposal aims to establish a cutting-edge concept that not only preserves cultural heritage but also introduces contemporary elements, fostering a dialogue that transcends temporal boundaries and contributes significantly to the development of interior design in the city of Cuenca
