    The thesis is a starting point to know how graphic design can bring in local musical productions, and evaluation that is given to this by musicians, for which a CD is designed with its own packaging and catalog to serve the folk band “Soul of the South” for its promotion in various media. This work consists of a reference to the graphic design framework, the music industry and the Ecuadorian identity, in addition to obtaining information through surveys and interviews with designers and musicians of the city, then an analysis of direct and indirect counterparts is performed to better understanding of the recording environment. Finally he held a briefing to the band and with the information from the graphic image of your entire drive, which was having a design process that goes from sketching ideas for the graphic to test materials for the packaging was designed, getting a music album to be sold, at the same time rescues national identity. In the design of this general thesis was applied everything learned about the creative thinking to address design problems, using contemporary technologies and digital print.
