    The present project fundamented in the concept of universitary library as center for the learning, teaching, investigation, and the activities related with the functioning and management of universities, consisting of library collection, books, audiovisuals and digitals. Management for the systems open and closed shelving, the same that provide services for users in four big ambiences; accesses, public service, internal work and deposit shelving. The study of the principles of university libraries, made possible the development of interior design proposal for Yanuncay Campus library of the University of Cuenca. Definitively apply the criteria obtained in each proposed areas is a process of merging criteria based in forms, functions and technologies, priorizing the intrinsic characteristics, especially of the selected materials and applied in the proposed ambiences
