Ilustración literaria de las narraciones épicas de los Adyghe Nart, leyendas de Sosruko
(2018-12-06) Bekaldieva Aramisova, Marina Anatolievna; Villacís Pastor, Martín Eduardo
"Literary Illustration of the Epic Saga of the Adyghe Nart, Legends of Sosruko” is an artistic proposal that consists of a series of figurative oil paintings as illustrations of myths from one of the ethnic groups of the North Caucasus, self-denominated as Adyghe, also known as "Circassian." This paper presents a review of the ancient Adyghe history and culture with its undeniable part, the Nart Saga. The cycle of the legends of Sosruko is one of the most important cycles of the Saga, and this series of illustrations aims to draw the attention of a diverse and international audience to the culture of the Adyghe ethnic group, to which the author of the present work belongs. This project is her contribution to the preservation and modernization of the ancient myths as part of the resistance struggle of the Adyghe against the process of assimilation by other majoritarian cultures in several countries of the world. In addition, this work seeks to revalidate the genre of literary illustration as a form of artistic expression that is known to be highly demanding and possesses its own value and autonomy within the visual arts.
