    Uso y experimentación de la parafina para la producción de velas artísticas

    This graduation paper presents both, a theoretical and a practical research aimed at exploring the uses of parafina wax applied to the production of artistic candles. For this purpose, the first chapter of the investigation focusses on the most general aspects of candle making, such as the materials and the processes required for their production, as well as the tools and techniques applied in the candle making industry. Furthermore, this work presents the results of an investigation on similar work done both, at local and international levels, regarding artistic and handcrafted candle making. The local offer in the city of Cuenca is addressed in more detail. The second chapter deals with the creative proposal and the specific techniques and resources used in small scale production. The experimentation process, together with the design proposals for the handcrafted candles are thus presented. Finally, the third chapter presents a synthesis of the entire production process and the outcome shown in each of the different candle designs achieved.
