La coeducación como un instrumento para la sensibilización del género
(Universidad de Cuenca, 2021-10-15) Baculima Piedra, Ana Cecilia; Gutiérrez Molina, Blanca Esperanza
This research was conducted at the Benjamín Ramírez Arteaga Educational Unit located in the sector of the Feria Libre, in the parish of El Batán, in the canton of Cuenca, province of Azuay, in order to know the level of management of the gender perspective in the co-education processes applied by the teachers of the Secondary School of this institution; For this purpose, a qualitative methodology was applied based on interviews and classroom observations that allowed us to collect data to extract more in-depth knowledge of the subject. It can also be said that the application of coeducation strategies is not completely carried out within the educational process, due to the fact that some teachers do not know what the strategies are and how they should be implemented to avoid discrimination and gender role stereotypes. In relation to the individual differences of the students, the educators try to attend according to the realities, needs and interests of the students, although they recognize that it is quite difficult due to the administrative burden that they must also carry out. Finally, teachers understand that it is necessary to be trained in the use and management of coeducation strategies in order to be able to carry out teaching processes free of stereotypes and discrimination, so that students can develop freely and have equal opportunities.
