Item Actitudes y prácticas de los hombres homosexuales respecto al uso de preservativo. Cuenca - Ecuador. Año 2017(2018) Avilez Zea, Juan Manuel; Auquilla Díaz, Nancy EulaliaIn the last years it has been evidenced an increase in the GLBTI community. This increase generates the necessity of produce scientific information about what being part of this community generates to the people. According to the later, the aim of this thesis is to determinate the attitudes and practices of the gay men as part of the GLBTI community related to the use of the preservative in the city of Cuenca (2018). A quantitative methodology was followed applying surveys to a population of 95 gay men that belongs to three activist organizations of the city (Cuenca Inclusiva, Red GLBTI del Azuay y Verde Equilibrante). Based on this instruments and processing the data using the SPSS software we found important results regarding to the attitudes and practices of this population about how the live and the use of the preservative as a protection method against sexually transmitted diseases. It became evidenced that the average subject is between 21 and 25 years of age, of student occupation, and lives under a family nucleus (parents or close relatives). Their main sexual practices are: caressing-kisses, masturbation, and active or passive anal penetration. About the sexual| behavior, 73 % of the population stands out the auto-identification as gays and also prefering a stable relationships. Regarding to the preservative use, it was detected the necessity to use it and the periodicity of the serology tests during their lives.
