    La movilidad en el acceso a los centros educativos: caso de estudio sector Universidad del Azuay, Cuenca - Ecuador

    The present research analyses the relationship between the mobility transport system and the location of the main services offered by the city, based on vehicle composition as well as pedestrians´ and drivers´ behavioral patterns. In the case of Cuenca, because of its considerable expansion process, its different sectors cannot be considered homogeneous, therefore each analysis and proposal generated have a methodological scheme in common allowing problems´ detection. A relevant methodological process is direct observation, both for vehicles and for pedestrians, identifying situations or behaviors that can only be detected in situ. The mobility transport system around the study area and the term itself is complex; therefore, it is necessary to carry out a theoretical analysis accompanied by case studies to establish criteria for future diagnosis and proposal. Subsequently, based on the defined criteria, a methodological scheme is established. Here motorized and non-motorized means of transportation are studied in detail, as well as the different population behaviors influencing the mobility system. Finally, based on objectives and strategies, a set of guidelines is proposed to solve the detected mobility problems; being also important to consider them when intervening or constructing a public space. This is how along three chapters the aim is to improve and feasible the mobility system and access to the educational centers of Universidad del Azuay and Unidad Educativa Particular La Asunción.
