Item Estudio de preferencias de medios de comunicación para la difusión de los derechos y cuidados de las mascotas en los estudiantes de la Facultad de Filosofía de la Universidad de Cuenca(2019-11-18) Auquilla Castillo, Erica Daniela; Ramírez Cuenca, Jonnathan Patricio; Guillermo Ríos, Víctor HugoThis research project starts from the existence of the problem of abandonment and mistreatment to the companion domestic animals in the city of Cuenca, which causes that these animals do not have a good quality of life and lack the necessary care for their optimal development, generating, at the same time, several social and hygienic problems to the city. For this reason, it has been considered pertinent to establish what are the communication preferences of the students of the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Cuenca to learn about the rights and care of domestic pets, so that these students, by becoming professionals disseminate this knowledge to face this problem. In the literature review, it has researched about: communication, preference study, communication media, domestic and companion animals; among other terms that have been important for the development of the research. For the collection of data, it has done activities, such as: interviews to some organizations dedicated to the care and welfare of companion pets; surveys of a sample of students from the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Cuenca; and a focus group with the participation of students from this same audience. As a result of this research, it was known that: students of the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Cuenca, prefer to know about sterilization; Through social networks; in a schedule from 6 in the afternoon to 9 at night; with images that appeal to feelings and show reality, without distorting it and using domestic animals without use a specific animal variety. This work will allow to communicate messages about care and rights of domestic pets to this public, so these persons can help to eradicate this problem that affects thousands of dogs and cats in the city of Cuenca.
