    Frecuencia de los factores de riesgo en pacientes preeclámpticas y no preeclámpticas y correlación entre los valores hemáticos de laboratorio y la gravedad de la preeclampsia en pacientes hospitalizados en el servicio de obstetricia del Hospital Vicente Corral Moscoso, Cuenca-Ecuador, octubre 2004-marzo 2005

    It aims to determine the prevalence of preeclampsia, determine the frequency of risk factors and the association between hematologic laboratory results and the severity of preeclampsia in patients hospitalized in the Department of Obstetrics HVCM city of Cuenca from October 2004 to March 2005. 57 cases (preeclampsia) and 114 controls (no preeclampsia) hospitalized. Data collection was conducted by direct interview with each patient, review of clinical and laboratory data in the clinical history of the cases and controls, after signing the informed consent. Conclusions: prevalence of preeclampsia 2.65. Risk factors for preeclampsia, with statistical significance were chronic hypertension, 132.29,95intervalo confidence odds ratio (IC) 1,52-300.69; smoking, odds ratio 5.16, 95 (CI) 1.36-21.07; family history of preeclampsia, oods ratio 6.44, 95 (CI) 1.98-22.19; headache, odds ratio 9.25 (CI) 4.18-20.71 and blurred vision, odds ratio 4.15,95 (CI) 1.82-9.54. There was an association between severe preeclampsia with proteinuria values ​​greater than 6gr / dl uric acid and values ​​greater than 14 g / dl. There was an association between blood pressure diastótica of preeclampsia with values ​​greater than 6 g / dl uric acid, lower number of 100,000 mm3 and platelet levels greater than 14 g / dl. There was an association between severe preeclampsia and increased uric acid 6gr / dl
