Item Evaluación del desarrollo psicomotor de niños y niñas de 1 a 5 años valorados con la prueba EDI en las parroquias Ludo y Paccha 2022(Universidad de Cuenca, 2022-07-29) Armijos Zhunio, Viky Alejandra; Fárez Matailo, María Elena; Clavijo, María IsabelBACKGROUND: Adequate psychomotor development in the first five years of life is of great importance, at this stage the foundations for appropriate interaction with their environment are strengthened. For this reason, evaluating the development, the influence of biological risk factors, neurological examination, and alert and alarm signals is imperative. In this study, psychomotor development was evaluated in boys and girls aged 1 to 5 years in the Ludo and Paccha parishes, through the Child Development Assessment test (EDI). RESEARCH OBJECTIVE: To determine the psychomotor development profile of boys and girls from 1 to 5 years old assessed with the EDI test of the Ludo and Paccha parishes. METHODOLOGY: Prospective Quantitative Descriptive type research. The study population was children from 1 to 5 years of age from the Ludo and Paccha parishes; the EDI evaluation test was applied. The data obtained were analyzed and tabulated in the IBM SPSS Statistics software. The results are presented in tables. RESULTS: The study was carried out on 154 boys and girls, of which 35.7% belong to the age of 1 to 2 years and 64.3% to the age of 3 to 4 years; according to sex, 39.6% are female and 60.4% are male; according to the "EDI" Test, 44.8% have normal development, 46.8% lag, and 8.4% risk of delay; 50.6% presented biological risk factors and 0.6% altered neurological examination.
