    Factores que influyen en la malnutrición de los niños/as de la escuela Alfonso Moreno Mora parroquia Tarqui periodo 2016

    BACKGROUND: Malnutrition is considered a disease caused by the deficiency or malabsorption of nutrients in the body that manifests itself in a lag of physical growth, lower cognitive development and vulnerability to different diseases. OBJECTIVE: To determine the main factors that influence the malnutrition of the children of the "Alfonso Moreno Mora" School. METHODS AND MATERIALS: We carried out a descriptive and quantitative research, through which we determined the main factors that influence the malnutrition of the children of the "Alfonso Moreno Mora" school in the Tarqui parish. RESULTS: The results of the research established that of the 100 children participating in our study, 52% are men and 48% are women; In addition, using BMI according to Cronk percentiles, 12% were found to be underweight, 56% were healthy and 32% were overweight. CONCLUSIONS: It was determined that children 's health problems related to malnutrition are related to lifestyle, low socioeconomic status of their families, reduced intake of nutritious foods that help their development
