    Estado periodontal en pacientes portadores de prótesis removible que acuden a la Facultad de Odontología de la Universidad de Cuenca durante el período de enero a junio 2015

    The objective of this study was to determine the periodontal status of patients with removable partial denture (PPR) attending the Faculty of Dentistry of the University of Cuenca, Azuay, during the period from January to June 2015. The study involved 40 individuals among the 33 and 84 years, who underwent a periodontal diagnosis and control of bacterial plaque. Found that 37.5% of patients had gingivitis in teeth pillars from the prosthetic hook, these 50% is located and the general 50%; 55% had periodontitis, being 64% mild periodontitis, 18% moderate and severe 18% and 7.5% corresponds to healthy pillars. In relation to the teeth pillars 78 showed dental recessions, 37 were Periodontal pockets, 89 bleeding on probing and 1 with mobility. In relation to oral hygiene found that all patients, 87.5% presented plate mayors rates to 20%, value that is described as bad and 12.5% presented indices qualified as good are values lower than 20%, which indicates that the majority of patients have a defective oral hygiene
