Item Coordinación de protecciones de la Refinería Shushufindi considerando el ingreso de un nuevo turbogenerador de 5 MW(2018) Simbaña Pulupa, Geovanny Enrique; Apolo Armijos, Ronald Vicente; Sanango Fernández, Juan Bautista; Zeas García, Serafín EuclidesThe Shushufindi Industrial Complex (CIS), with the purpose of improving the reliability, continuity and self-sufficiency of the electric power supply for the refining processes and not having dependence on the external network; plans to acquire a new generation unit with a rated capacity of 6.3 MW, which will be driven mechanically by means of a residual gas turbine as primary energy, which, for reasons of turbine efficiency and performance, will result in the generation of an effective maximum power of 5 MW. The input of this generation unit causes a change in the topology of the current network, so that the protection settings of each element within the system have to be readjusted. In this sense, the present project starts from the field survey of characteristics of the elements that make up the current network, as well as obtaining specific information about the equipment that will be part of the new system. For the modeling of the network, the use of a computational tool was chosen; where by simulations to different conditions of the system at maximum demand and steady state, the study of power flows and short circuits for possible faults in main bars was carried out in order to establish, according to the results obtained, an effective coordination of the protections considering the selectivity criteria and speed recommended by the regulations in force. Finally, the minimum technical characteristics of additional protection equipment of the new generation unit are determined.
