Background: The restriction of the ankle towards dorsiflexion, can be cause or consequence of important mechanical and functional alterations, in addition to being associated with numerous musculoskeletal pathologies of the lower limbs. When evaluating, obtaining reliable data is substantial for the development of a diagnosis and future treatment; as well as the results and prognosis of the patients. Only through reliable measures, can we make predictions about future injuries. Hence its importance. General Objective: Determine the level of risk of injury to lower limbs through active measurement of the range of ankle dorsiflexion in the students of Physiotherapy at the University of Cuenca. Methodology: A quantitative, descriptive and cross-sectional study was conducted in physiotherapy students of the University of Cuenca; applying the "Lunge Test" through the mobile application "Dorsiflex". The results are presented in frequencies and percentages using the SPSS software, version 25.0. Results: An information search was completed for academic purposes, evaluating 103 Physiotherapy students, 71 women and 32 men, with an average age of 21.77; of which 42.71% (n = 44) showed a high risk of lower limb injuries. Observing a statistically significant relationship between the decrease in dorsiflexion with the presence of pain (r = -0.157, p = 0.024), and with the history of previous injuries (r = -0.278, p = 0.001). Conclusion: In this study, a representative percentage (42.71%) of the participants presented a high risk of suffering lower limb injuries; as their ranges of ankle dorsiflexion were below the norm.
