Item Actitud del personal de enfermería ante la muerte del paciente: Hospital Homero Castanier Crespo, Azogues 2017.(2017) Santander Guamán, Walter Freddy; Zhinin García, Gioconda Alexandra; Alvear Idrovo, Ruth MagdalenaBackground: Death has been for the human being a subject of deep reflection and meditation, from the philosophical, religious and scientific perspective; however it is increasingly difficult to live or accept death, according to Sontag. Several authors point out that each person experiences his or her own dying process in a unique and irreversible way, therefore, there is no one way to live and experience death. Objetive: To determine the Attitude of the Nursing Personnel before the Death of the Patient: Hospital Homero Castanier Crespo, Azogues 2017. Methodology: Of quantitative type, descriptive of transversal section. The universe was 203 and the sample of 66 nursing professions that conform the different areas of study: Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Emergency and Clinical; for being of greater prevalence in patients' mortality. The "Attitudes to Death Questionnaire" Version 1 was used by Hernández, 1997, because it is the most used and feasible for our investigation, it consists of 33 propositions, which was modified to 24 propositions. The data obtained in the research were processed in the statistical program SPSS 21.0, the analysis of the results was done, using tables and graphs of frequency and percentage. Results: The nursing staff of the "Homero Castanier Crespo" Hospital from a global perspective has different attitudes to death in which they are found, behavioral attitudes with 50%, involving the dimensions of fear with 43.30% and professional perspective with 52.90%. Affective attitudes are represented with 25%, where they are subdivided into avoidance dimensions with 60.71% and acceptance with 50.60%; and finally cognitive attitudes with 25%, which involves the dimensions of passage with 46.88% and solution or exit with 54.46%.Item Aplicación de la interculturalidad, en el cuidado de la salud de niños con infecciones respiratorias y enfermedades diarreicas agudas IRA y EDA que acuden al Centro de Salud de Chiquintad, Cuenca- Ecuador 2016(2016) Alvarez Rosas, Carlos Julio; Cárdenas Hoyos, Mercy Elizabeth; Cabrera Cárdenas, Carmen Lucía; Alvear Idrovo, Ruth MagdalenaIntercultural health addresses major challenges to improve the quality of health services through the implementation of the Comprehensive Family, Community and Intercultural Health Care Model aimed at increasing care coverage and strengthening the first level of care, incorporating the strategy Of Renewed Primary Health Care, understanding, respecting and incorporating the knowledge and ancestral health practices of traditional and alternative medicine, in addition to the reconstruction of "Buen Vivir" Objective.- To identify the application of interculturality in the health care of children with Acute Respiratory Infections and Acute Diarrheal Diseases who attend the Chiquintad 2016 Parish Health Center. Methodology.- The research is quantitative, collecting numerical information of a determined sector of the city of Cuenca; The type of study was descriptive, since the universe was made up of 901 children who go to the Chiquintad Health Center, we chose a sample, statistically calculated, corresponding to 207 children who came to the health center. The research techniques used were: the interview, the documentary review of the clinical history and a clinical history review guide. The information processing was done in the programs Word, Excel and SPSS Statistics, applying descriptive statistics with frequencies and percentages. Results.- The ages most frequently of the children interviewed are in the ranges of 1-4 and 5-12, with percentages of 50.7% and 40.6%, respectively; Of them, 94.6% come from the rural area. 93.2% believe that drug use is good for children. It was determined that 95.7% had used ancestral medicine for the treatment of IRA, EDA being the most used medicinal plants with 88.7% having 70 varieties of these and finding efficiency in its use of 90.8% of the use of Ancestral medicine. In the Health Science Journal, year 2011, revealed that according to the level of self-care practice, 75% of people with stage 1 hypertension have a deficient level of regular and 99.9% with stage 2 of Poor to good (2). OBJECTIVE: To determine the level of self-care in hypertensive people belonging to the "First My Health" Club of UNE-Totoracocha. Cuenca 2016. METHODOLOGY: This research is a quantitative-descriptive approach, with a finite universe of 134 hypertensive patients, applying the survey technique and as a tool a modified questionnaire of the thesis "Self-care in patients with a diagnosis of Arterial Hypertension seen in the Hypertensive Club of Subcentre of Health No. 2 in Sinincay-Cuenca 2013 by Mejía Tigre Rosa and Paguay Asitimbay Narcisa. The results were tabulated in the SPSS V23 program and Microsoft Office Excel 2010. RESULTS: The management of self-care in people of the Club is: 89.6% do not consume more than 2gr / day of salt, 74.6% do physical activity, 50.0% sleep between 5 to 7 hours, 100 % Are on pharmacological treatment, 99.3% go to medical check-up and 98.5% take their medication on a daily basis. It includes physical violence and verbal and aggressive language. Mistreatment can happen inside or outside an educational institution. OBJECTIVE The objective of this study is to identify the different ways and characteristics of abuse or “Bullying” on students from the basic levels in Ciudad de Cuenca High School by means of determining knowledge level about the topic, the frequency of received abuse, and types of abuse and defense mechanisms used by the victims. METHODOLOGY The study was applied on 87 out of 714 students which were chosen randomly from all the basic levels. A multiple choice survey was applied to collect the data. The descriptive method was used to present the data on charts and frequency and percentage graphs in which the comprehensiveness and scientifically knowledge about the problem, are analyzed. RESULTS A 52,87% knows about the concept of Bullying, the remaining amount relates bullying with violence that occurs in other situations. A 72,41% have experienced some kind of abuse. However, it’s important to mention that a 3,44% of students declared having experienced some kind of sexual aggression; a worrying amount since it’s a female educational institution. A 50,57% said to know about cases of abuse in the institution, and most of them are physical. 80,45% of interviewed students can recognize the different roles of victim, victimizer and just witness. 75,86% said the in case of being mistreated or having witnessed a case of abuse, they will immediately look for a professor and then parents. A 30% of students said they will state groups of defense against abusive partners or they will just take revenge. Finally a 73,61% have been abused at least once, and the 28,74% which corresponds to victimizers. They affirmed the most frequent way of aggression is physical. Objective: To determine the lifestyles of professional drivers belonging to Uncometro Company Drivers, suffering metabolic diseases, Cuenca 2016. Methodology: The study is quantitative descriptive and applied throughout the universe of drivers, the same who work permanently in the carrier UNCOMETRO. The technique used in the research was the "Survey" and as an instrument the "LIFESTYLES" form - "in a similar study conducted in the Province of Santa Elena, Ecuador, as amended by the authors with the variables: lifestyles, eating habits, work activity, and living conditions. The data were analyzed and tabulated through Excel and SPSS version 2015 frequency statistics represented by tables in percentage. Results: The lifestyles that generally practiced by professional drivers of the company are that 62% of them, do walks; 40% is devoted to walking. 57% of drivers rest from 4 to 5 hours; consumption of toxic substances is: 52% consumed alcohol, cigarettes or both. The study group consisted of 72 nurses, who work in the HHCC, as a small universe the sample calculation was performed, but worked with the whole universe. The variables that were used for the study were: work stress, work environment, work and consumer staples. The research techniques used were the interview, Jaime scale epiestres Breihl and cortisol measurement techniques. Job stress is defined as a set of emotional, cognitive, behavioral and physiological reactions to situations harmful content, organization or work environment, characterized by high levels of arousal and distress. Work stress is directly related to the working conditions of professional nursing staff HHCC, which are deleterious and are associated with a narrow room with little space availability, reduced staff, increased work activities, working time intensive little harmonious labor relations that create an unfavorable organizational climate. The research results show that there might be a relationship between job stress in nurses found with the precarious conditions of work they do, more complex relationship with the characteristics of a domestic practice deteriorarte further exacerbating the vulnerability and the effects of work stress. Objective: to determinate the ergonomic risk factors for the development of muscle skeletal injuries in laborers brickworks community (El Chorro Cuenca, 2016). Methodology: It is a descriptive research; we worked with a finite universe of 97 laborers. As a technique it was used the direct observation and as tool was applied a formulary, based on the format designed by ERGOPAR E ISTAS. It was modified by the authors; for its validation a pilot test was applied in which participate a population of the same characteristics that were used for the investigation. For analysis and data tabulation were used software’s such as Microsoft Office 2010 Word, Excel and SPSS version 15. To present the data were used content tables with their respective statistical analysis. Results: It was identified that the ergonomic risk factors are high determining thus: according to forced posture the 100% of the laborers keep a repetitive posture, according to the manual cargo handling the 52,1% of laborers lift up 3 or 6kg approximately and according to repetitive movements the 50% of laborers perform the same action from 1 to 5 times per minute. These factors influence mainly on the development of injury lumbar back with a total of 37,5%. Conclusion: In this research was able to determinate ergonomic risk factors to which brick yard laborers are exposed and was possible to determinate its rol on the development of muscle skeletal injuries, demonstrated by a high pain at lumbar back 37.5%, besides in a low percentage 2,1% pain in: shoulders, elbows and arms. Cuenca 2018(2019) Zhigue Eras, Elisa Isabel; Yanza Inga, Doris Eugenia; Alvear Idrovo, Ruth Magdalena; Cabrera Cárdenas, Carmen LuciaBackground: the World Health Organization (WHO) states that the deficit in growth and development is subject to poor diet, with figures for 2016 close to 155 million children with stunted growth and development, due to food shortages, of inadequate child care and diseases. Objective: determine the nutritional, emotional and socioeconomic factors that influence the growth and development of CEDIUC children. Cuenca 2018. Method and Materials: quantitative research, descriptive, cross-sectional study carried out in the Child Development Center of the University of Cuenca (CEDIUC), with a universe of 166 children enrolled. The sample was calculated with the application of the formula of Pita Fernandez (2001), consisting of 60 children. Growth was determined through the proportions of height - age, weight - age, weight - height, body mass index (BMI) for age; while for the development coefficient the Brunet Lezine Scale was applied. The results were tabulated in SPSS, generating simple tables and double entry. Results: the nuclear family prevails by 53.3%; 35% of children from 6 months to 2 years have inadequate growth; with delayed development in 29 children of the same age group (48.3%). Conclusion: the nutritional, emotional and socioeconomic factors directly influence the process of growth and development of children attending CEDIUC; validating the theoretical basis.Item Impacto del estilo de vida sobre el imc de los trabajadores recolectores de basura, EMAC 2017.(2018) Tenesaca Cabrera, Paola Gabriela; Alvear Idrovo, Ruth MagdalenaBACKGROUND: The current concern for maintaining health has created numerous prevention programs, considering unhealthy lifestyles as factors that promote disease. The majority of health problems are increasingly in young and economically active populations, the increase in chronic noncommunicable diseases is greater and are linked to inadequate lifestyles. OBJECTIVE: To determine the impact of lifestyle on the Body Mass Index of garbage collection workers of the EMAC, 2017. METHODOLOGY: Descriptive - transversal type study. We worked with a finite universe of 107 participants, belonging to the collection area of the EMAC (Municipal Toilet Company of Cuenca). For this research the Nola Pender Lifestyle Profile Questionnaire (PEPS-I) was used, which quantitatively measures the healthy lifestyle of the individual in relation to their Body Mass Index. We worked with the programs: Word, Excel, SPSS version 22. The results were made in frequency and percentage tables. RESULTS: Regarding the relationship of lifestyle with the Body Mass Index, 6.5% of workers are in normal weight and have a regular lifestyle, while 27.1% have a very good lifestyle. 14.9% of workers who are overweight have a regular lifestyle, while 37.3% of them have a very good lifestyle. Of the 13.9% of workers who are in Obesity grade I and II all have a regular lifestyle. CONCLUSIONS: It has been determined that although the lifestyle is not completely determinant of the Body Mass Index has great influence. The higher the value of the BMI there is a greater inclination to the regular lifestyleItem Percepción de la capacidad de autocuidado del Adulto Mayor del Centro de Promoción Activa del IESS-Cuenca-2014(2015) Alvear Idrovo, Ruth Magdalena; Cabrera Cárdenas, Carmen Lucía; Mosquera Vallejo, Lorena ElizabethIn Ecuador it has very little data on the behavior of the perception of self-care ability among elderly; being considered this vulnerable population group has also demonstrated the relationship between self-care ability and quality of Senior`s life. Subjet: To establish the perception of self-care ability of elderly Active Promotion Center IESS-Cuenca-2014. Methodology: The study was descriptive type in which 120 patients of whom 65% were women, surveyed the technique used was a survey; the instrument was CYPAC TEST-AM.1. As summary statistics for quantitative data descriptive statistics as frequencies and percentages were used. For qualitative data the relative frequency (%) was used to summarize the performance thereof. RESULTS.- The research results show that 30% of older adults studied the perception of self-care ability was poor; areas with better performance (adequate self-care) among older adults are controlling addictions (80, 0%), physical activity (65.8%) and control of medication (64.2%). While the results were worse control rest and sleep and control of elimination, where over 40% of the sample presented a perception of inadequate self. Conclusions.- The results indicate a potential deficit in self-care of seniors surveyed, suggesting the need to extend this study to other nursing homes in the city and the country, also shows a clear correlation between sex, level of education and perception of self.Item Prevalencia de enfermedades en los trabajadores de barrido y limpieza de calles (EMAC-EP), Cuenca 2017(2017) Rivera Jara, María Lorena; Alvear Idrovo, Ruth Magdalena; Merchán, María GerardinaBackground: According to World Health Organization, there are major worldwide deficiencies in the approach to issues associated with "workers’ health and their exposure to occupational risk. Just a small part of the workforce currently has access to health services "(1). Public sanitation workers of Cuenca city are exposed, by the very nature of their work, to conditions that create problems for their health among which can be mentioned: environmental conditions, exposure to viral, bacterial and allergen agents and others that will cause diseases. Objective: To identify the prevalence of diseases in public sanitation workers of EMAC-EP, Cuenca, 2017. Methodology: A quantitative, descriptive, cross - sectional study was conducted with a 235 workers population who were in charge of street sweeping. A sample size consisted of 68 people from this population. In order to obtain the required information, the author developed and applied a survey. Data tabulation was made using IBM SPSS Statistics software and Microsoft Excel 2010, which was used to present graphics and frequencies/ percentages tables. Results: The prevalence rate of diseases in 68 workers were: respiratory diseases: 1.19 musculoskeletal diseases: 1.14 psycho-emotional diseases: 0.67 dermatological diseases: 0.57 and infectious diseases: 0.27Item Procesos peligrosos en la salud del personal de enfermería que labora en el área de emergencia del Hospital Vicente Corral Moscoso. Cuenca, 2014(2014) Armijos Pineda, Carmen Ricarda; Merchán, María Gerardina; Alvear Idrovo, Ruth MagdalenaAim: The present research determines de Dangerous Processes in the health of the Nursing Personnel who works in the Emergency Area of the Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital. Methods and Materials: It is a quantitative, descriptive research type which is made up of 37 nurses among men and women who work in the Emergency area. The research technique is as follows: the direct observation and the applying of a structured interview. Data were gathered through a structured survey, which have been processed and analyzed by the SPSS program, Microsoft Office Word, and Microsoft Excel that are present in the tables. Results: An amount of 96, 9% of the professionals are women and the 50% belong to whom, who are between 25 and 35 years old, 43, 8% have been working less than a year. They give care to critic patients, 100% manage medicine, stretchers, and wheel chairs. About 50% of these people do not rest during their work, 84, 4% remain standing and habitually the use the body mechanics 51, 6% show that the physical space is not the right one, 59, 4% that the airing is bad, 15, 6% of lightning is wrong. The nurses are exposed to pathogens, 40, 5% have handled blood samples, and the 33, 8% of urine, 41, 2% has punctured, 23, 5% has presented cutts. Conclusion: The found results in this study show that the 23 nurses are exposed to dangerous processes like: physical, chemical, biological, ergonomic, and psycho-social, which are in their work process.
