    With the objective of describing the type of feeding consumed by pregnant women who go to the prenatal area of ​​the External Consultation of Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital, a descriptive study is performed, with a sample of a conventional type according to the mothers' request for Care with the doctor during a month of the year 2004 that constitute 100 pregnant mothers; The interview technique was applied with the open questions, with criteria of inclusion and exclusion. Conclusions: feeding the pregnant woman is the fundamental part for the birth of a healthy child, however the crisis that supports the country, has sharpened poverty and increased survival problems. The deficit of food, housing, education, health, etc. Affects more severely the most vulnerable sectors of the population, including pregnant women; The foods consumed by pregnant mothers are mainly carbohydrates (cheap foods) and easy to acquire. Unfortunately it says that it was observed that health personnel do not give more importance to food or diet that pregnant women should consume, so it was necessary to develop educational material that is easy to understand, with economic and nutritious diets
