The mass media have an important role, should contribute to the construction of a more balanced society, with equal opportunities. In these communication spaces, people with disabilities have been left behind in the field of communication, both in the workplace and in their programming. This demonstrates a minimum inclusion process, in violation of the rights of access and participation, which promotes invisibility and discrimination. For this reason, we set out to develop two life stories that help show the contribution of people with disabilities in the media, cooperating in improving their quality of life. The history of life allowed us to know, through personal experiences, the inclusive processes of Edith Patiño and Adrián Manzano in the radio media of Cuenca, confirming that people with disabilities are able to function in a self-sufficient manner in the media, becoming a reference of improvement for others. In addition, it should be noted that the biographies of these two characters have contributed to disability issues, as a right not only social, but also in the specificity of the profession of communication and journalism.
