Item Configuración de la trama urbana de Cuenca en sus zonas de expansión 1980-2010(2015) Altamirano Moscoso, Daniel Leonardo; Flores Mogrovejo, Andrea Fernanda; Paute Calle, Víctor FernandoAnalyze the urban configuration is considered as a outstanding topic that most be understood as the protagonist of the city due that it's the responsible of city development and organization, trying to be conscious and integrative. Further it should value the enviroment's protection, ensuring it's growth and considering to use the means in a efficient way, minimizing the pressure on sorrounding land. Nowadays are studies that reveals that more than a half of world's land is occupied, specially because Latin American cities expands in a dispersed and discontinuous way, having very low densities. Those patterns are not sustainable cause the strategies to face them are deficient and generates poverty. So to develop this topic, we have considered an element as the protagonist for it's structural role in cities configuration, that is the street pattern, due it's the matrix of connectivity, so important for urban mobility and on the other hand it's the matrix of basic services provision. Besides, streets and public equipment are indispensable for personal interaction and citizen's comunication. Is important to mention, that the configuration in Cuenca is closely linked with the country politics and laws.
