    Epilepsy is a public health problem both for its high frecuencua as the social and economic impact on the population. In developed countries, the prevalence of epilepcia of about 6 per thousand inhabitants, this figure differs substantially from those reported in developing countries where most publications mention numbers between 8-22 per thousand.
