Evaluación de las condiciones hidráulicas en esteros y canales mediante modelamiento hidrodinámico 1D y 2D
(2017) Aguilar Sarmiento, Jairo Leonardo; Patiño Jara, Marcelo Eduardo; Cisneros Espinoza, Felipe Eduardo
The numerical modeling of the flow in rivers and estuaries is of great importance to evaluate sites vulnerable to floods and areas of risk. The study area is in the Duran county in the Province of Guayas. In the winter season the floods cause affectation to its inhabitants, especially in the most vulnerable classes. In this project, the construction of 8 numerical models is planned based on the available topographic information to obtain 8 one-dimensional hydrodynamic models in the HEC-RAS model and two two-dimensional hydrodynamic models in the IBER model. In HEC-RAS and IBER, the rugosities of the land were assigned according to the land use and the border conditions were entered both upstream and downstream. The objective of this project was to evaluate the hydraulic conditions of the marshes and channels through the mathematical modeling of the flow using the HEC-RAS models in 1-D and IBER in 2-D to determine the speeds, flow levels in each one of the estuaries and channels. In addition, based on the results of the mathematical modeling, flood maps were obtained for flood flows of 5, 25 and 100 years, which allowed us to identify sites prone to flooding and areas of risk. In this way, it was provided with solutions to this problem, updating the existing information, establishing areas with different levels of flood threat due to overflow of the riverbed, establishing prevention works and reduction of flood risks.
