    Consecuencias de las inequidades sociales y de salud sexual y reproductiva frente a la ley de maternidad gratuita en el cantón Gualaceo 2003-2004

    In order to establish the main factors and social conditions that influence the knowledge and access to various sexual and reproductive health established in the Free Maternity Law that exists in Ecuador. Direct data collection was performed by conducting surveys. The study was applied to 194 women Tambo canton, of which 60 live in urban areas and 134 in rural areas, comprising between 17 and 92 years, mean 41.1 years. It was observed that in rural areas there is a 78,8de poverty in relation to urban areas 22,2en. 26,9de only the poor have adequate access index rights to information and knowledge (IADIC). The 72,1de women in rural areas have inadequate rate of knowledge, attitudes and practices (ICAP's) for prenatal care, while for urban areas are inadequate to 27.9. Access to health services is suitable for 88,9de young women, while for adult muejres is suitable only for 11.1. Therefore there is no adequate dissemination and accessibility of the various health services provided by the Maternity Act
