    The Saucay Hydroelectric Power Station with a generation power of 24MW, belonging to the generation company ELECAUSTRO S.A., requires the update of the study of protections, this work aims to provide the theoretical and practical arguments for the new configuration of the intelligent relays that are installed to protect the generation units, as well as the step-up transformers that allow the connection of the power plant to the sub-transmission system. The work carried out will also serve as a guide for carrying out the tests of the digital relays. It presents the guidelines for making the test templates according to the relays installed and the protection functions that are activated to protect the elements of the power plant
