To determine the prevalence of epidural hematomas (EDH) and subdural hematoma (SDH) with their general characteristics and associated TBI patients in the Department of Imaging "Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital" in 2013. Material and Methods: A prevalence study was conducted on patients attending the hospital for a CAT scan to present TBI. Results: The prevalence of EDH in TBI patients was 15.60% and 24.17% in SDH. The median size of EDH was 20.5cc (interquartile range 15 to 42cc) and 24cc SDH (interquartile range 12 to 38cc). EDH fractures associated with 34.4%, cerebral edema in 27.9% and midline shift in 28.7%; SDH did while in 24.9%, 24.9% and 27.5% respectively. There was no significant difference (p> 0.05) between the rate of hematoma and gender, age group, midline shift, fracture and edema. 39.64%. Compared with other countries (China and Cuba) presented a lower prevalence of EDH and SDH and associated factors being equal when they are due to be biological factors. Conclusions: EDH and SDH are more common in males, parietal area and population between 20 and 29. 1 of 3 EDH is associated fracture, cerebral edema or midline shift. Similarly 1 of 4 SDH.
