Item Estado nutricional e intervención dietética al personal administrativo de la Coorporación Eléctrica del Ecuador (CELEC EP) Unidad de Negocio Hidropaute. Julio 2014- enero 2015(2015-01-01) Vintimilla Rojas, Daniela Alejandra; Moscoso Sarmiento, María Fernanda; Palacios Santana, Gicela Monserrate; Abril Ulloa, Sandra VictoriaNutrition is the prime determiner for health as well as the physical and mental performance in each individual. OBJECTIVE: Determine the nutritional state and perform dietary intervention for the administrative personnel of the Electrical Corporation of Ecuador – Hidropaute METODOLOGY: A quasi-experimental uncontrolled study was conducted from july 2014 to january 2015, comprised of 58 people between the ages of 20 and 64. The weight and height of each person was taken at the beginning, during, and at the end of the study to classify the nutritional state, in accordance with the parameters indicated by the World Health Organization, and surveys were conducted regarding food consumption in various periods to determine the preference and dietary habits of the individual. Based on the results of the study, a healthy nutritional proposal was developed in accordance with the necessities of the population. Physical exercise was also promoted three times a week in the company’s installations grounds as complement to the diet, which includes dance therapy, soccer, and basketball. RESULTS: The percentage of the initial normal weight was 51.7% and finally 65.5%; the excess weight in the initial stage was 33.3% and after the intervention, it was diminished to 24%; the obesity level 1 dropped from 11.6% to 10.5% and finally the obesity level 2 of 1.7% dropped to 0%, demonstrating the effectiveness of the treatment. It determines deficit in the child growth, low cognitive learning, low emotional development and little social performance. The lack of educational strategies in relation to the promotion of healthy eating habits and physical activity by the teachers, the family and the social environment have a impact in the children development. GENERAL OBJECTIVE: Create audiovisual strategies for promoting healthy eating habits and physical activity in preschools of the Municipal Child Development Centers of Cuenca. METHODOLOGY: An exploratory qualitative study was conducted in the period from May to October 2016. At baseline on focus groups by voice recordings with eight teachers of initial 2 subnivel1 of the 9 Municipal Child Development Centers of the city of Cuenca was made for further analysis. The transcription was analyzed using the ATLAS.ti v7.5.7. program. After those audiovisual educational materials such as songs, audio stories, pop–ups stories, and audio stories (digital images with audio) for preschool were created for promoting water, fruits, and vegetables consumption and physical activity. Child malnutrition in Ecuador has doubled in the last 30 years so it is considered a new epidemiological profile. The low use of educational strategies to promote healthy eating habits and physical activity at school, family and social level have an impact on the integral development of the child GENERAL OBJECTIVE: Create playful educational strategies for the promotion of healthy eating habits and physical activity in preschoolers of the Municipal Child Development Centers of Cuenca. METHODOLOGY: An exploratory qualitative study was conducted in the period from May to October 2016, took place at the beginning of the investigation a focus group using voice recordings to record conversations with 7 educators from initial 2-sublevel 1 of 9 Municipal Child Development centers of the city of Cuenca-Ecuador. the was issues related to recreational educational strategies currently used to promote healthy eating habits, physical activity and also asked what needs they have in relation to the play materials to promote the consumption of water, fruits, vegetables and physical activity were discussed. The transcript was analyzed by the program ATLAS.ti v7.5.7. With this information was designed playful preschool education materials for use and promotion of water consumption, fruits, vegetables and physical activity. USE OF RESULTS: The results were analyzed and delivered to the institutions as it facilitated educators to promote healthy eating habits and physical activity
