| Abstract: | The objective of this research is to reconstruct the struggles of the LGBTI + movement in Cuenca
and its main historical milestones in the period between 1997 and 2017. The study has a qualitative
approach as the life history research technique was used, which is also considered a journalistic
genre. The protagonists of the life histories are José Sánchez and Vanessa Morocho, two Cuencan
activists who have had a political and social influence in the city in favor of the LGBTI rights.
For the construction of the life histories in-depth interviews, bibliographic-documentary review,
and the narration of the activists were used to reflect their human side and through their voices
they give an account of the struggles of the LGBTI movement in Cuenca. In addition, a survey
was carried out to find out the opinion of sexually diverse people on the legal regulations of the
rights for this population. This research is a first record of this collective struggle; however, it
cannot be said that this is the only story, because stories change depending on who tells them |
| Description: | El objetivo de la presente investigación es reconstruir la lucha del movimiento LGBTI+ en Cuenca
y sus principales hitos históricos en el periodo comprendido entre 1997 y 2017. El estudio tiene
un enfoque cualitativo debido a que se utilizó la técnica de investigación historia de vida,
considerada también un género periodístico. Los sujetos protagonistas de las historias de vida son
José Sánchez y Vanessa Morocho, dos activistas cuencanos que han incidido política y socialmente
en la ciudad a favor de los derechos LGBTI.
Para la construcción de las historias de vida se emplearon entrevistas a profundidad, revisión
bibliográfica - documental, y la narración de los activistas para reflejar su lado humano y a través
de sus voces dar cuenta de la lucha del movimiento LGBTI en Cuenca. Además, se elaboró una
encuesta para conocer la opinión de las personas sexo género diversas sobre la normativa legal de
los derechos de esta población. Esta investigación es un primer registro de esta lucha colectiva; sin
embargo, no se puede afirmar que sea la única historia porque los relatos cambian dependiendo de
quién los enuncia |
