Estudio de las gráficas de cerro Narrío perteneciente a la cultura cañari, como medio de rescate cultural

Abstract

Nowadays, acculturation has become so harmful to the society because of the next reasons. First, because ethnic groups have been forced to leave their communities to go to the big cities in order to get a job and have a better education. In addition, this process of change involves other factors such as change of lan-guage, writing, loss of customs and traditions. Therefore, it could be said that this change has caused the loss of identity. This project tries to rescue this identity specially the “Cañari Culture” contributing to the reuse of the Cañari graphics based on their meaning and their symbolic importance. It can be said then that the best way to communicate is unifying the past with the present days. In the last years, the use of technology has increased such as the use of laptops, tablets, and smart phones. People need to protect these objects and for this reason, the market has develo-ped many products like cases, skins, etc. with modern designs. The goal of this project is to propose new graphics reusing the Cañaris graphics addressing them to a public between 16 to 24 years old in Cuenca city, and in a direct or indirect way spread this cultural history contributing to the rescue of the cultural identity
