Determinación del somatotipo de atletas de la Federación Deportiva del Azuay entre los 14-16 años de edad

Abstract

Nowadays, there have been many amazing changes in the world referring to the sports science; such as kineanthropometric, which had acquired a great relevance and importance in the sports. The kineanthropometrics methods provide us with very important information for the sport training, this helps us comparing athletes, ideal patternsand also to make comparisons amongdifferent sports. The main purpose of this thesis is to value the somatotype of the athletes in the Sports Federation Of Azuay, applying a field research and using the anthropometric method through the use of equations proposed by Heath – Carter which is easy to handle with. This study was basically focused on the benefits obtained from the anthropometric characteristics to the sports practice and how to get advantage of them. For the test 77 athletes were evaluated, 51 men and 26 women from different athletics modalities of the Sports Federation Of Azuay between the ages of 14-16 years old. The athletes were measured in the medical dispensary which is located inside the “Jefferson Pérez Quezada” running track after making a statistic analysis in which included the average, median and standard deviation. As well as the respective analysis of somatotype; such as somatotype average, dispersion distance and index of dispersion; with all this, the present work leads us to better conclusions and recommendation, helping to have a scientific character.
