| Abstract: | The determination of the existing pathologies in the Catedral Nueva de Cuenca is based on five clearly defined stages; Firstly, an historical constructive investigation is used looking to find the different materials used, their place of origin and the techniques applied in the construction of the most important structural elements like: the foundation pile, columns, walls, cupolas, buttresses, etc.
In the second stage there is a study and characterization of the materials that make up the structure of the Cathedral, among them: bricks, sand, and limestone. The modulus of elasticity and Poisson's of the materials are necessary values in the structural modeling stage.
In the third stage there is a study of the pathologies on site. All the damages identified in the structure will be analyzed with the objective of knowing the cause that produced them, for this reason in this stage of the project it is necessary to find the more relevant pathologies of the structure in the detailed plans to ease the location for the corresponding analysis.
In the fourth and fifth stages a three dimensional model generated in SAP 2000, which looks at the elastic behavior of the materials and other characteristics, so that this way the structural elements that present considerable traction with the most damaged or deteriorated parts of the structure can be bought. This study's purpose is to find the most vulnerable zones or places of the structure. |
| Description: | La determinación de las patologías existentes en la Catedral Nueva de Cuenca se basa en cinco etapas claramente definidas; como primera parte se tiene una investigación histórica constructiva en la cual se busca conocer los distintos materiales utilizados, su lugar de procedencia y las técnicas aplicadas en la construcción de los elementos estructurales más importantes como son: la cimentación, columnas, muros, paredes, cúpulas, contrafuertes, etc.
Dentro de la segunda etapa se encuentra un estudio y caracterización de los materiales que constituyen la estructura de la Catedral, entre ellos tenemos: el ladrillo, arena, cal y piedra de agua. El módulo de elasticidad y de Poisson correspondientes a estos materiales son valores necesarios en la etapa de la modelización estructural.
En la tercera etapa se tiene un levantamiento de patologías en campo. Todos los daños identificados en la estructura serán analizados con el objetivo de conocer la causa o motivo que los produjo, por esta razón en esta fase del proyecto es preciso ubicar las patologías más relevantes de la estructura en planos detallados que faciliten su localización para su correspondiente análisis.
En la cuarta y quinta etapa se cuenta con un modelo tridimensional generado en SAP 2000, el cual considera el comportamiento elástico de los materiales además de otras características, para de esta manera comparar los elementos estructurales que presentan tracciones considerables con las zonas de mayor daño o deterioro en la estructura. Todo este estudio tiene como propósito dar a conocer los lugares o zonas más vulnerables de la estructura. |
