Abstract: | In the Sunsun-Yanasacha forest area, soil use changes have led to soil deterioration caused
by the growth of urban areas, the expansion of agricultural frontiers, recreational activities,
among others. Through the evaluation of saturated hydraulic conductivity, which is a
hydrological parameter, it is possible to obtain information about the deterioration of moorland
soils. The objective of the study was to evaluate the change in saturated hydraulic conductivity
(Ks) and to analyze the relationship with the physical properties of the soil (soil texture, soil
bulk density and organic matter), in the four vegetation covers: natural forest (BN), pine forest
(BP), bush grass (PA) and pasture (PO). The results showed significant differences between
vegetation cover (p =0,003). In the pine forest (BP) it was 1,65 ± 0,86 cm/h, then the pasture
(PO) 1,24 ± 0,68 cm/h, in the natural forest (BN) 0,95 ± 0,85 cm/h, and bush grass (PA) 0,92
± 0,49 cm/h represented the lowest values. The relationship with the physical properties of the
soil did not show a correlation, even so, the information was compared with other akin studies
that indicate a certain similarity with what was obtained in this study. With respect to the
relationship with the physical variables, the Ks presented a low correlation and its relationship
was not linear |
