Abstract: | Background: sexting is a phenomenon that in recent years has gained importance due to
technological advances, which have allowed university students to have greater access to the
internet and communication platforms, making it part of their daily lives, but with a great ignorance
of the consequences. Objective: to determine the characteristics of sexting in medical students at
the “Universidad de Cuenca”. 2022 - 2023. Methods: this is an observational, descriptive,
quantitative study. A total of 187 surveys were applied to students enrolled in the ninth and tenth
cycle of the medical career at the “Universidad de Cuenca”, the information was tabulated using
Microsoft Excel 2016 and the SPSS 25.0 program, the information was analyzed and presented
using frequency and percentage tables. Results: of the study population, 82.55% are older than
22 years, women 60.40%, single 96.64%, from the Sierra 74.50%, tenth cycle students 72.48%;
They practice sexting 73.83%, according to the type 48.32% are active and 25. 50% are passive;
They use cell phone 79.39%, WhatsApp 56.17%; They practice with their boyfriend/girlfriend
65.94%; Consequence: damage to privacy 20.29%; Motivations: good mood 38.18%, being alone
35.45% and because they want to have sex 45.45%. Conclusion: Sexting is practiced by more
than half of the population, mostly of the active type, the results point to the fact that sexting is
common in this population with little knowledge about its consequences. |
Description: | Antecedentes: el sexting es un fenómeno que en los últimos años toma importancia debido a los
avances tecnológicos, los mismos que permitieron que estudiantes universitarios tengan mayor
acceso a internet y plataformas de comunicación haciendo de este, parte de su vida diaria, pero
con un gran desconocimiento de las consecuencias. Objetivo: determinar las características del
sexting en los estudiantes de Medicina de la Universidad de Cuenca. 2022 – 2023.Métodos: es
un estudio observacional, descriptivo, cuantitativo. Se aplicó 187 encuestas a los estudiantes
matriculados en noveno y décimo ciclo de la Carrera de Medicina de la Universidad de Cuenca,
la información fue tabulada mediante Microsoft Excel 2016 y el programa SPSS 25.0, se analizó
y presentó la información mediante tablas de frecuencia y porcentaje. Resultados: de la población
de estudio, el 82.55% son mayores de 22 años, mujeres 60.40%, solteros 96.64%, de la Sierra
74.50%, estudiantes de décimo ciclo 72.48%; Practican sexting el 73.83%, según el tipo el
48.32% es activo y el 25.50% es pasivo; Usan teléfono celular 79.39%, WhatsApp 56.17%;
Practican con su novio/a 65.94%; Consecuencia: daño a la privacidad 20.29%; Motivaciones:
buen humor 38.18%, estar solos 35.45% y porque quieren tener relaciones sexuales 45.45%.
Conclusión: El sexting es practicado por más de la mitad de la población, en su mayoría de tipo
activo, los resultados apuntan a que la práctica de sexting es habitual en esta población con poco
conocimiento sobre sus consecuencias. |
