| Abstract: | Feminism was born as a struggle against social relations based on power, its purpose is to denounce, make it visible and fight against inequality between women and men, this has motivated the emergence of feminist movements that fight to eradicate violence and gender equality in all its manifestations. The objective of this research is to describe the perceptions that frame the practices of feminism among adolescents in the third year of high school at the Unidad Educativa “Fray Vicente Solano”, during the school year 2022 – 2023, contemplating
gender and the socializing agents that influence the development of positive and negative conceptions of feminism. The study has a qualitative approach, with a phenomenological type of design and descriptive scope. We worked with a population of 21 adolescents, including course parents and some student council representatives of the institution since September 2022. Semi-structured interview and focus group techniques were used. The results revealed that the family and educational environment influences the students' perception of feminism, which is characterized by gender stereotypes, moreover, the study presents that there is a
negative perception of the feminist movement in the city of Cuenca. Although, it is concluded that adolescents have a positive perception of feminism, the feminist movement is stereotyped as violent and vandalistic. |
| Description: | El feminismo nace como una lucha contra las relaciones sociales basadas en el poder, su fin es denunciar, visibilizar y combatir la desigualdad entre mujeres y hombres, ello ha motivado el surgimiento de movimientos feministas que luchan por erradicar la violencia y la igualdad de género en todas sus manifestaciones. La presente investigación plantea como objetivo describir las percepciones que enmarcan las prácticas del feminismo en los adolescentes de tercero de bachillerato de la Unidad Educativa Fray Vicente Solano de Cuenca, en el periodo 2022 – 2023, contemplando el género y los agentes socializadores que influyen en el
desarrollo de las concepciones positivas y negativas sobre el feminismo. El estudio tiene un enfoque cualitativo, con un tipo de diseño fenomenológico y de alcance descriptivo. Se trabajó con una población de 21 adolescentes, entre los que se identifican representantes de curso y representantes del consejo estudiantil de la institución, a partir de septiembre de 2022. Se emplearon técnicas de entrevista semiestructurada y grupo de enfoque. Los resultados dieron a conocer que el ámbito familiar y educativo influye en la percepción de los estudiantes sobre el feminismo el cual se caracteriza por los estereotipos de género, además se halló que hay
una percepción negativa hacia el movimiento feminista en la ciudad de Cuenca. Se concluye que los y las adolescentes tienen una percepción positiva del feminismo, sin embargo, el movimiento feminista está estereotipado como violento y vandálico. |
