| Abstract: | In the Amazon region of Ecuador, specifically in the Palora Canton, yellow pitahaya is
produced. It is an important crop because the demand for this fruit is high and it is for
export purposes, which makes it profitable. This research aims to find an efficient
alternative for the management/control of Olygonichus spp and Tetranychus spp mites,
because these arthropods are currently considered a true phytosanitary problem in
crops. The present investigation was carried out in a commercial pitahaya farm located
in the Palora Canton belonging to the province of Morona Santiago, through which the
effect of five acaricides was evaluated against a control, the treatments applied did not
show statistically significant differences. However, it should be noted that the acaricide
Cyenopyrafen was the one that gave the best results in the control of eggs in the fifth
week of application (MED=91.5), and the acaricide Bifenazate best controlled the adult
mite populations in the fifth week (MED = fifty). Regarding cost, it was determined that
the best in both effectiveness and value is the acaricide Bifenazate, with a high
percentage of control with respect to the other treatments. |
| Description: | En la región Amazónica de Ecuador específicamente en el Cantón Palora se produce la
pitahaya amarilla, es un cultivo de importancia porque la demanda de esta fruta es alta
y tiene fines de exportación, lo que lo hace rentable. Esta investigación pretende buscar
una alternativa eficiente de manejo/control de los ácaros Olygonichus spp y Tetranychus
spp, debido a que estos artrópodos al momento son considerados un verdadero
problema fitosanitario en el cultivo. La presente investigación se realizó en una finca
Comercial de pitahaya ubicada en el Cantón Palora perteneciente a la provincia de
Morona Santiago, mediante la cual se procedió a evaluar el efecto de cinco acaricidas
frente a un testigo, los tratamientos aplicados no mostraron diferencias estadísticamente
significativas, sin embargo cabe destacar que el acaricida Cyenopyrafen fue el que
mejores resultados dio en el control de huevos de en la quinta semana de aplicación
(MED=91.5), y el acaricida Bifenazate controló mejor las poblaciones de ácaros adultos
en la quinta semana (MED = 50). En cuanto al costo, se determinó que el mejor tanto
en efectividad como en valor es el acaricida Bifenazate, con un alto porcentaje de control
con respecto a los otros tratamientos. |
