| Abstract: | The current intervention project has the objective to develop an “Update of the Tourist Development Plan for the Guachapala canton, for the period 2023-2027, with the goal of taking advantage and enhancing the tourist resources of the canton, promoting sustainable and equitable growth within the tourism industry. Through comprehensive and participatory planning, focused on conserving and valuing cultural and natural heritage, as well as enhancing the quality of life for the local community. For the plan's development, a threephase analysis was conducted. In the first phase, establishing the canton's baseline involved creating a qualitative descriptive study, a review of bibliographic sources was made, primarily with the canton's Tourism Development Plan, where relevant information could be obtained like; general aspects of the canton, its current situation, bio-physical components, social sphere, culture, and legal framework. In the second phase, to diagnose the tourism supply and demand of the canton, visits were made to various attractions to update the inventory. To study tourism demand, 200 surveys were conducted at key attractions, enabling the profiling of tourists in Guachapala. Finally, in the third phase, the development of the tourist project portfolio for the Guachapala canton was achieved through local community involvement, as a foundation of the plan. A participatory assembly and SWOT analysis were conducted, thus outlining the tourism plans and projects. Through this project, it is anticipated that Guachapala canton will achieve improved management, becoming an authentic and appealing destination offering unique experiences in harmony with its surroundings. Furthermore, it is expected to drive economic and social development in the canton.

| Description: | El presente proyecto de intervención, tiene como objetivo actualizar el Plan de desarrollo turístico del cantón Guachapala, para el periodo 2023-2027, con el fin de aprovechar y potenciar los recursos turísticos del cantón, promoviendo a su vez el crecimiento sostenible y equitativo en la industria del turismo, mediante una planificación integral y participativa, enfocada en la conservación y valoración del patrimonio cultural y natural, y al fortalecimiento de la calidad de vida de la comunidad local. Para el desarrollo del plan se realizó un análisis compuesto por tres fases; en primer lugar, para levantar la línea base del cantón, se elaboró un estudio descriptivo cualitativo, se hizo uso de revisión de fuentes bibliográficas principalmente el PDOT del cantón, en donde se pudo obtener información relevante como; aspectos generales del cantón, la situación actual, componente biofísico, ámbito social, cultura y marco legal. En la fase dos, para el diagnóstico de la oferta y demanda turística del cantón, se realizaron visitas a los diferentes atractivos para efectuar una actualización del inventario de atractivos que posee el cantón. Para el estudio de la demanda turística se realizaron 200 encuestas en los principales atractivos, de esta manera se pudo obtener el perfil de turista de Guachapala. Finalmente, en la tercera fase se logró el desarrollo del portafolio de proyectos turísticos para el cantón Guachapala a través de la participación de la comunidad local y el GAD Municipal, por el cual elaboramos una asamblea participativa y en conjunto se obtuvo la construcción de la Matriz FODA, estableciendo así el plan, programas y proyectos turísticos. Mediante este proyecto se espera que el cantón Guachapala tenga una mejor gestión, que sea un destino autentico y atractivo, que llegue a ofrecer experiencias únicas en armonía con su entorno. Además, se espera que se impulse al desarrollo económico y social del cantón.
