| Abstract: | his research aims to improve the understanding of concepts related to lighting, chromatic
and photographic composition in the genre of history or period drama, examining them as
tools that help the viewer with perception and temporal location and then applying them in the analysis of two significant Ecuadorian works in this genre, Don Eloy (1981) and 1809 – 1810 mientras llega el día (2004) by Camilo Luzuriaga. For this study we will be guided by the concepts presented in Cinematographic Production Manual (2004) by Carlos Vega Escalante, Light in the Cinema (2005) by Jacques Loiseleux, Cinema and History (2008) by Tomás Valero Martinez, and Chromatic Cinema (2010) by Richard Misek. We find it convenient to base ourselves on the research methodology on the arts proposed by Hernández, F. in his book Fields, themes and methodologies for research related to the arts. Bases for a debate on research (2006). It is our intention that this research will make a significant contribution to the theory and practice of Ecuadorian cinema in the history genre or period drama. |
| Description: | Esta investigación se centró en mejorar la comprensión de los conceptos relacionados con la iluminación, cromática y composición fotográfica en el cine histórico o cine de época, conceptos indagados como herramientas que ayudan al espectador con la percepción y ubicación temporal. El análisis se apoyó en dos obras ecuatorianas significativas del género referido: “Don Eloy” (1981) y “1809 -1810: Mientras llega el día” (2004) de Camilo Luzuriaga.
El estudio se basó en los conceptos propuestos por Vega Escalante (2004) en su Manual de producción cinematográfica, así como en las contribuciones de Loiseleux (2005) en La luz en el Cine, Valero Martínez (2008) en Cine e Historia y Misek (2010) en Cine Cromático. Se consideró adecuado respaldar la metodología de investigación utilizando la contribución en el ámbito de las artes presentada por Hernández (2006) en su obra "Campos, temas y metodologías para la investigación relacionada con las artes. Bases para un debate sobre investigación". Con el estudio desarrollado se pretendió hacer un aporte significativo a la teoría y práctica del género histórico en el cine ecuatoriano. |
