| Abstract: | This research contemplates the importance of financial knowledge in micro entrepreneurs in rural areas of the city of Cuenca, specifically in private tourism ventures. This study had a quantitative approach of descriptive scope, where a sampling was carried out with a minimum percentage of response to the total of tourism enterprises in rural areas of the city of Cuenca, there are 87 establishments that are in operation according to the cadaster of the Ministry of Tourism of the year 2022. Therefore, a test was carried out on the tourism micro-entrepreneurs of the mentioned area, as a tool to validate the data collected and respond to the hypothesis raised in the research, "The lack of financial knowledge in the micro-entrepreneurs of the rural areas of the city of Cuenca could cause economic instability in their tourism businesses". Therefore, the results of the research show the valuation of the financial knowledge of tourism micro-entrepreneurs and the use of financial tools for the management and administration of their businesses.

| Description: | La presente investigación contempla la importancia del conocimiento financiero en micro emprendedores de las zonas rurales de la ciudad de Cuenca, específicamente en los emprendimientos turísticos privados. Este estudio tuvo un enfoque cuantitativo de alcance descriptivo, donde se realizó un muestreo con porcentaje mínimo de respuesta al total de emprendimientos turísticos de las zonas rurales de la ciudad de Cuenca, existiendo 87 establecimientos que se encuentran en funcionamiento según el catastro del Ministerio de Turismo del año 2022. Por consiguiente, se realizó un test a los micro emprendedores turísticos de la zona mencionada, como herramienta para validar los datos recolectados y responder a la hipótesis planteada en la investigación, “La falta de conocimiento financiero en los micro emprendedores de las zonas rurales de la ciudad de Cuenca podría causar inestabilidad económica en sus negocios turísticos”. Por lo tanto, los resultados de la investigación muestran la valoración del conocimiento financiero de micro emprendedores turísticos y el uso de herramientas financieras para la gestión y administración de sus negocios.
