| Abstract: | Migration is a social and historical phenomenon from which no country is exempt, there are
many cases of human mobilization, however, there are few studies related to the experiences
of underage children within the Ecuadorian context. Therefore, the objective of this research
was to describe the experience regarding the migration of Venezuelan boys and girls in
second childhood in the city of Cuenca. The analysis had a qualitative approach, of a
phenomenological type in which 12 Venezuelan boys and girls chosen through convenience
sampling participated. The collection of information was carried out through a semi-structured
interview, which consisted of 8 questions where the boys and girls were able to describe their
experiences on migration, in addition, it had a thematic meaning that allowed analyzing and
identifying 5 categories; child migration, adult centrism, emotional experiences and adaptation
to change. It was evidenced that, from their perspective, migration is positive due to the
benefits and improvements in their quality of life, although they state that they did not
participate in the decision to leave their country. On the other hand, according to the
testimonies obtained, they did not have difficulties to adapt to new customs, different foods or
new routines. In conclusion, the research gave us a new perspective of migration from the
child's perspective, being mostly positive experiences, however, there were reports that
expressed the importance of preparing and involving children in this type of decision. |
| Description: | La migración es un fenómeno social e histórico del cual ningún país está exento, existen
muchos de casos de movilización humana, sin embargo, existen pocos estudios relacionados
a las experiencias de los niños menores de edad dentro de las ciudades ecuatorianas. Por
ello, el objetivo de esta investigación fue describir la experiencia respecto a la migración de
niños y niñas venezolanos en la segunda infancia en la ciudad de Cuenca. El análisis tuvo un
enfoque cualitativo, de tipo fenomenológico en el que participaron 12 niños y niñas
venezolanos elegidos a través de un muestreo por conveniencia. La recolección de
información se realizó mediante una entrevista semiestructurada, la cual constó de 8
preguntas en donde los niños y niñas pudieron describir sus experiencias sobre la migración,
además, tuvo un sentido temático que permitió analizar e identificar 5 categorías; migración
infantil, calidad de vida, adulto centrismo, experiencias emocionales y adaptación al cambio.
Se evidenció que, desde su perspectiva, la migración es positiva debido a los beneficios y
mejoras en su calidad de vida, aunque manifiestan no haber sido partícipes en la decisión de
salir de su país. Por otro lado, de acuerdo a los testimonios obtenidos, no tuvieron dificultades
para acoplarse a nuevas costumbres, distintas comidas o las nuevas rutinas. En conclusión,
la investigación nos brindó una nueva perspectiva de la migración desde el enfoque infantil,
siendo en su mayoría experiencias positivas, no obstante, existieron relatos que expresan la
importancia de preparar e involucrar a los infantes en este tipo de decisiones. |
