Pruebas básicas de laboratorio clínico en niños de 5 a 8 años de la escuela Federico Proaño del área de influencia del Centro de Salud No 2 de la ciudad de Cuenca. 2010-2011.

Abstract

Basic tests of clinical laboratory were realized in 160 children of 5 to 8 years of age, of different stature and weight, that they attend the school Federico Proaño, pertaining to the area of influence of the Center of Health №2 of the city of Cuenca, in order to improve their quality of life. The samples were processed in the Clinical Laboratory of the Center of Diagnosis of the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the University of Cuenca and in the Hospital Vicente Corral Moscoso. The following results were obtained: The average of white blood cells is of 6.529,5 x mm3; of red blood cells 5.227 x103 x mm3; of hematocrit 43,1 %; of hemoglobin 14,8 g/dl; of platelet count 339.056,3 x mm3 and glucose 81,3 mg/dl; in the ASTO only 3.1% had values above 200 UI/ml; in the elementary and microscopic examination of urine it does not exist pathological alterations. 13,1 % of the samples presented intestinal parasitism, being these: Entamoeba histolytica 6,3 %, Entamoeba Coli and Enteromonas 1,3 %, Giardia lamblia 2,3 % and Chilomastix mesnili 1,9 %.- In conclusion, the children from 5 to 8 years of the school Federico Proaño did not present significant alterations in the basic tests of laboratory realized in them.au
